Ingredients
Instructions
-
Preheat and Prepare
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan and set it aside.
-
Mix Wet Ingredients
In a large bowl, cream together the sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Add the beaten eggs and mix well. Stir in the mashed bananas and sour milk until fully combined. Add the vanilla extract.
-
Combine Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring just until combined.
-
Add the Nuts
Fold in the chopped walnuts, making sure they're evenly distributed throughout the batter.
-
Pour and Bake
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
-
Cool and Serve
Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve once cooled.
Note
- The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful your bread will be. Bananas with plenty of brown spots are ideal.
- If you don’t have sour milk, you can make it by adding 1 teaspoon of vinegar or lemon juice to 1 cup of milk and letting it sit for 5 minutes.
- While walnuts are traditional, you can use other nuts like pecans, almonds, or hazelnuts. You can also leave them out if you prefer nut-free bread.
